The Foundation: Daisy Ferns’ Education Rooted in Understanding Children
I hold a degree in Psychology and Educational Development, giving me a strong academic foundation in how children grow, learn, and behave. Before founding multiple businesses, I spent nearly a decade in education and outreach at the University of Nottingham—supporting young people, mentoring future students, and always working in roles that focused on helping others thrive.
I’ve always been a teacher, not just by title but by nature. My superpower? Taking big, complicated things and making them simple, practical, and powerful. I bring this into every training session, every curriculum, and every moment inside the Academy.
The Turning Point: From Exhausted Mum Daisy Ferns to Empowered Entrepreneur
Becoming a mum changed everything.
My daughter Felicity didn’t sleep—for years. At four years old, she was still waking five times a night. I was exhausted. When I finally reached out for support, I experienced firsthand the power of responsive sleep coaching. With my second child, Jack, I used what I’d learned to support him myself—and it worked.
These experiences lit a fire in me. During the pandemic, I trained to become a sleep consultant. Within months of launching Lavender Blue Sleep Consulting®, I was fully booked. But something else was happening too.
I didn’t feel excited by my old job anymore. I couldn’t go back. I wanted to build something more meaningful—for myself, and for other families.
The Leap: Building a Business That Helped Others Do the Same
Seeing how fast I grew, others asked: “How did you do it?” And I noticed a gap. Sleep consultants were in high demand—but the quality of training varied wildly. Many new consultants felt underprepared. That didn’t sit right with me.
So I built the Certificate in Responsive Sleep Training—a gold-standard qualification with CPD accreditation that equips consultants with the confidence, clarity, and credibility they need to thrive.
It wasn’t just about training sleep consultants. It was about raising the standard, changing the industry, and giving women a real, flexible career that works for family life.
The Expansion: From One Business to a Multi-Business Empire
What started as one small business from my kitchen table has grown beyond anything I imagined.

I’ve been featured in Glamour, BBC Radio, Women’s Health, The Mirror, The Times, and The Telegraph—because what we do matters. And people are noticing.
